Those people who intend to have a career in the HR field should also consider getting human resources certification in Iowa. You don’t necessarily need to have a degree to get this certification, but it can be obtained much faster with a higher degree. There are also requirements related to the number of years of experience you have that are based on your degree. The number of years required is reduced for each higher level degree that you earn. This is the reason that many HR professionals choose to work toward certification online at the same time they are employed in the HR field.
A PHR (Professional in Human Resources) certification is the first level. This certification requires four years of experience. The number of years experience you need drops to two if you have a bachelor’s degree and it drops to one year if you have a master’s degree.
SPHR (Senior Professional in Human Resources) is the next level of HR certification in Iowa. You will need seven years of experience to be eligible for certification. This is reduced to five years with a bachelor’s and four years with a master’s.
You will gain a great deal of respect in the eyes of your organization, employees and your peers when you obtain certification. They will know that you are committed to a career in human resources and will recognize that you are willing to put forth the effort to stay current in the field. They will also trust your opinion and knowledge and have more confidence in your skills and abilities to manage all of the different areas of human resources.
