Villanova University, in Villanova, Pennsylvania, announced today that their 3-course Master Certificate in Human Resource Management is going to be updated to include HR Certification Institute’s body of knowledge, which has been altered recently. The online course is being revamped to include 18 hours of video-lectures by Villanova professors. It’s also being updated to include more real-life type scenarios to better help students pass their PHR® and SPHR® certification exams.
The course changes went into effect starting January 1st, 2012. The course is 12-weeks long and offers 24/7 access to an enormous amount of resources. The text used for the course is the 2012 SHRM Human Resource Learning System. The course also offers one year access to online resources including practice tests, to help students further prepare for HR Certification exams.
“Villanova University is committed to providing students with the most up-to-date information so that they can successfully prepare for PHR® and SPHR® certification. As an instructor for Villanova’s online Human Resource Management program, I believe that these important updates will be enormously helpful and will instill confidence in students that they have the knowledge needed to prepare for their human resources certification exams.” said Susan Warner, SPHR® and Villanova HR professor.
Human Resource degrees tend to be a very career-oriented field of study. Because of this, Villanova is taking a step in the right direction by making the course as flexible, and career-focused as possible. This course is something anyone in Human Resources or looking to get into HR should consider. By making this course so accommodating for professionals and students alike, I’m sure they will continue to see a surge of applicants in this growing field.
