In Bellevue, WA, The 2011 award in “Cultural and HR Innovation Award” from the Leading Edge Alliance went to one of LEA’s founder’s CPA firm, Clark Nuber. Clark Nuber created a Leadership Development Institute for seniors and managers which featured different and original curriculum for both positions. The Leadership Development Institute helps institute strong shareholder involvement in addition to program alumni leadership programs.
This comes after the 150 employee firm has won a staggering amount of HR related awards starting in 2001. Here’s a list of Clark Nuber’s “Best Place to Work For” honors:
- Number one “best place to work for” (in mid-size companies) in 2001, 2003, 2006, 2007 by Washington CEO Magazine
- One of the 50 Best Small & Medium Business Companies to Work for in America by the Great Place to Work Institute and the Society for Human Resource Management in 2007, 2008, 2009
- Number one (in midsize companies) Best Company to Work For by Seattle Business Magazine in 2009
- Best Accounting Firm to Work For by Accounting Today and Best Companies Group in 2010
Obviously, Clark Nuber is an HR superstar. Clark Nuber’s Senior Director of Human Resources, Tracey White responded to the honor by saying “Receiving this kind of recognition from our peers is a very significant accomplishment. Innovation and creativity are a necessity in order to remain competitive.”
Clark Nuber clearly practices the belief that if you invest in your employees, the money spent will more than pay for itself. Clark Nuber is a wonderful example for HR professionals to aspire to. If the number of industry and business community awards Clark Nuber has won is any indication, then its safe to say what we as HR professionals already know, an outstanding HR department makes the whole company thrive.
